Learn About Irish New Year with Torch House

By Lotta L.

Every high school House gets the opportunity to learn and share information about a holiday and culture. I am a part of the Torch House, and we chose New Year for our Heritage and Identity month. Specifically, we chose the Irish New Year.

When January started, we were tasked to make a post about the Irish New Year before our all-high school checkpoint where we got to lead an activity based on the traditions celebrated in Ireland on New Year’s Eve. Everyone in my house helped with finding sources, such as YouTube videos and articles. We learned a lot of interesting information.

From there, I put our combined notes into a short video animation. As I am not well-versed in animations, I drew and typed all of it on Procreate. Everyone at Torch hopes that you enjoy learning a bit about Irish New Year!
