Debate & Drama Extracurriculars Are Here!

By Sora Schools

Sora recently launched two brand new extracurriculars, Drama and Debate! These programs are offered to both middle and high school students and will run from January 24-April 24, 2024. We are thrilled to welcome our new coaches for these programs to the team!

Currently, 10% of all Sora students are enrolled in Extracurricular programming, and we cannot wait to share more about what students create and achieve going forward.

We encourage you to meet our incredible new coaches, Lawrence and Hannah.

Sora drama coach Lawrence Stallings is a Broadway, television, and film actor who currently lives in New York. While his 15+ year career has yielded many credits, his passion has always been creating roles from the ground up, and he has been fortunate enough to do so in two Broadway productions and two one-man shows. When Lawrence is not acting, he is writing, producing, and coaching. As a writer/producer, Lawrence has created two web series and currently has a film short in pre-production. He is a master storyteller with a great desire to fine-tune his craft and then share those discoveries, as a teaching artist and coach, which he has been doing for the last 10 years. Lawrence also works with Family Life Theater, which organizes drama productions in New York City schools.

Sora debate coach Hannah Nunley has been involved in the debate community for over a decade. During her professional time with debate, she helped lead the Wimberley High School debate team and coaches individual students all over the state of Texas. These students would go on to place in the top 8 at various state tournaments and the top 64 at national tournaments. Throughout Hannah’s personal experience in debate, she won three state championships, was the state runner-up 10 times, and was a national semifinalist three times. Hannah was also awarded the “Top Speaker” award at debate tournaments numerous times. Hannah is looking forward to working with Sora students and can’t wait to share her knowledge and experience.
